PUIJO TOWER

In 1856, the astute merchant C.R. Dahlström constructed a 16-meter-tall wooden tower in the area for the purpose of sightseeing. Advancing to 1906, a fashionable 24-meter brick tower adorned the skyline. The current tower, born in 1963 and designed by the creative architect Seppo Ruotsalainen, drew inspiration from the elegant rotating TV and lookout towers prevalent in Central Europe. Utilizing an innovative sliding formwork technique, this substantial concrete giant proudly stands at an impressive height of 75 meters.
